GoDaddy Website Builder or a managed site: cheap to start, capped early

If you bought your domain from GoDaddy, the builder was right there, it was cheap, and it got you online. That is a genuine win over having no site at all, and plenty of cleaning companies are running on exactly that today. The limitation is that a bundled builder is designed to get the largest possible number of small businesses to a presentable page, not to give one local service company the page depth, the structured data and the ongoing publishing that local search actually rewards.

Point 01

What it does well enough

A single presentable page with your services, your phone number and a contact form, live in an afternoon, bundled with the domain you already own. For a brand-new business that needs somewhere to point a business card, that is a reasonable place to start and nobody should feel bad about it. The mistake is leaving it there once the business is real.

Point 02

The ceiling, in concrete terms

Section templates that cannot be rearranged much. No practical way to build and maintain thirty near-identical town pages that differ in the details that matter. Structured data limited to whatever the platform emits. A blog that exists but that nobody writes. Speed that is acceptable and not competitive. None of that shows up in week one. All of it shows up the moment a competitor down the road publishes pages for the same towns you drive to.

Point 03

Where a cleaning company actually loses the job

Two companies serve the same suburb. One has a page named for that suburb, answering what a recurring clean includes there, what it costs by frequency, how fast a crew can get there and what a first-time customer should know. The other has one services page and a phone number. Both do equally good work. Only one of them appears when somebody searches. That gap is not closed by a nicer homepage, it is closed by pages, and pages are what a bundled builder makes hardest.

Point 04

Keeping the domain, changing the rest

You do not have to move your domain to change your site, and you do not have to lose the address on your vans. We point your existing domain at the new site, or transfer it if you prefer, and either way it stays registered in your name. Everything printed on a business card or a vehicle wrap keeps working.

Being straight about it

When each one is the right choice

Choose GoDaddy Website Builder when

  • You started the business last month and need somewhere to point a business card.
  • One page genuinely covers what you offer.
  • Every dollar is going into equipment and crew right now.
  • You are not competing on search yet and you know it.

Choose a managed site when

  • You have crews, routes and repeat customers, and the site does not reflect any of it.
  • Competitors appear for towns you actually serve and you do not.
  • You want pages, articles and structured data without doing any of it yourself.
  • Your site has not changed since the afternoon you built it.

How to move, or how to run both

Keep your domain, replace what sits on it

Your GoDaddy domain stays yours. We point it at the new site, or transfer it to a registrar in your name if you would rather consolidate, and nothing printed on a van or a business card has to change. The existing site stays up until you approve the new one, every address that changes gets a permanent redirect, and any email you run on that domain is left alone.

From companies who switched

What changed for operators who moved to a managed site

  • Quote requests routed into dispatch

The quote form drops straight into the software our dispatchers already use, so a request does not sit in an inbox waiting for someone to notice it. We stopped losing the people who filled the form in at nine at night.

  • A page per service and per town

We finally have a page for every service and every town we cover instead of one page trying to say everything at once. Crew leads send a customer a direct link now rather than explaining the whole business on the phone.

  • Revisions turned around in days

Turnover pricing changes between seasons and our old site could never keep up. Now a revision request is done in days rather than whenever a developer had a free afternoon, so the site never quotes last season.

Before you decide

Questions about GoDaddy Website Builder

01Do I have to move my domain away from GoDaddy?

No. We can point your existing domain at the new site and leave the registration exactly where it is. If you prefer to consolidate, we transfer it into your name at another registrar at no charge.

02What about the email address on that domain?

Untouched. We only change where the website points, so email on your domain carries on working exactly as it does now.

03Will my current site go down during the build?

No. The new site is built alongside it and the domain switches only once you have approved the new one.

04Is the GoDaddy builder bad for SEO?

It gives you the basics and stops there. The ceiling is page depth and structured data, which is where local search for a service business is actually decided.

05Can I keep the content I already wrote?

Yes, where it is worth keeping. Send it during onboarding and we rebuild it into the new structure rather than starting from a blank page.

06How many pages do I actually need?

One per service crossed with one per town your crews really reach. For most cleaning companies that is somewhere between fifteen and forty pages, and we work out the list with you on the onboarding call.

07Is this worth it if I only serve one town?

Sometimes not, and we will tell you. If one town and five pages genuinely covers it, a cheap builder may be the right answer for another year. Come to the demo and we will be straight with you.

08How quickly can the new site be live?

Seven days from the onboarding call on the entry plan. The plans that add the AI Engine or the Content Engine take ten or fifteen days, because those need training and scheduling before launch.
